Severus purchased two Butterbeers and, ignoring the knowing glances from Madame Rosmerta, found a table for two tucked back in the corner.
It was difficult shifting through the crowded pub since his bookbag kept threatening to tangle up his legs and twisting this way and that. He managed reaching the table without spilling any of the Butterbeers, a small achievement.

October peeked into the crowded bar otherwise known as the Three Broomsticks. She stepped inside and glanced around, looking for Severus somewhere in the swaying mass of people occupying the bar. She threw a glance back over her shoulder before proceeding further into the building.
She was almost certain Mimi had followed her here. After their fight yesterday in the greenhouse, October was sure that Mimi was going to do anything in her power to make this experience as miserable for her as possible.

Severus waved feebly at October, not really liking to move his his limbs in any extreme fashion. "October, over here," he shook his head, knowing that it was far too loud in here for her to hear him.

October, although not able to hear Severus over the roar of the other customers, happened to glance in his direction at that very moment and drifted over to the table. She smiled softly as she sat down, "Hello, Severus."

"Hey, I got us some Butterbeers," Severus handed her one. "So, um," officially scrambling for a conversation piece to chew over, he asked, "What do you want to talk about?"

October took the butterbeer from him, "Well, just as a warning, I believe a friend of mine might be stalking us today. She doesn't like you very much and attempted to stop me from coming here today. I don't think she'll actually do anything, but I just wanted to tell you."

Severus didn't say anything at first, just raised his eyebrows. After taking a sip of his Butterbeer, he asked, "May I ask why she's stalking us?"
((I have to go to bed now, talk to you tomorrow. BTW, I read the thread in the Green House.))

October shrugged lightly, "She just doesn't like you." She replied, deciding not to elaborate upon it. A part of her was actually a bit afriad that Mimi was right, that Severus was a Death Eater and a manipulator and that this was all a lie. It would almost be a repeat of the incident with her father, and October desperately wanted to keep those wounds sealed.
((Okay. Goodnight.))

"She isn't the only one," Severus couldn't help the scowl that was sneaking onto his face. "It seems that you're an endangered species, October. And frankly, I'm not sure what you see in me," he took another sip of his drink.

"I am not that special, Severus." October sighed, looking away from him for a moment, "And anyway, hasn't it always been a mystery why one person is attracted to another? I find you appealing because I just do and that's that. Personally, I think you should accept it."

"As you wish," Severus said, and his stomach erupted into a hurricane of butterflies. No, not just butterflies, the whole insect kingdom was in there. So she really did like him!
He set his Butterbeer down, "And don't say you're not special. I think you are, and I think you should accept that."

October's gaze snapped back to him, "Do you really mean that?" She asked, tilting her head slightly to the left. She had pretty much abandoned all attempt to hide her feelings now. This was a bold move for her, seeing as she had kept her heart under lock and key for as long as she could remember.
So far, October had not been sure of how Severus felt about her. After all, there were several reasons for which a boy would ask a girl out other than merely liking her and the more cautious, perhaps more sensible, half of her had steadily been preparing her for the pain of disappointment. But, perhaps, this would end it. Perhaps.

"I always mean what I say, October," Severus gazed at her intently, trying to ignore the maelstrom of emotions. "And why would I lie to you?"

"No, I suppose not." October replied, shaking her head lightly and smiling to herself, "So, I take it you like me back?"

"Yes, that pretty much sums up what I've been trying to tell you all this time," Severus nodded, spinning his Butterbeer round and round.
