"Then you'd be surprised. Most purebloods are taught at an early age. In the early times, it certainly had it's advantages, but in the modern day, it's taught more as something else they can brag about to others," Severus swallowed Mudbloods. "And I would think that twelve years would count as sufficient time to learn it, don't you think?"

"Yes. I suppose so." October nodded, looking interested, "I leanred something new today, I guess. I wasn't aware most pureblood children were taught Legilimency. I was never taught, and, as far as I know, neither was August. We're both purebloods."

"Is that so," Severus said, surprised. "My mother, being the stickler for old fashions, told me that when she was training me. I'm not surprised that they don't practice that anymore, now that I think about it... But even so, Lucius knew how to as well, so I thought...But he's not very good at it; you could break into his mind in a heartbeat," he smirked.

"Really? I assume you speak from experience?" October raised an eyebrow. Severus didn't seem like the type who would simply break into a person's mind. October considered the mind to be one of the last places where one could be safe from the outside world, a quiet place all their own.

"Yes, but he hasn't anything important to hide. Not smart enough to own a secret," Severus' mouth twitched in a smile. "He asked me to, though; he couldn't remember his girlfriend's name and I didn't have a clue of who he was talking about, so he let me search around," he frowned at this, knowing that Lucius didn't care to think of love as anything sacred. He abused it almost weekly, him and that Black, it seemed.

October looked as though she might laugh, "He couldn't remember Narcissa's name? I've heard of people not being very good with names, but he interacts with her on a near daily basis." She replied, shaking her head lightly, "There is no excuse for that..."

Blaze walked into the Three Broomsticks; thought it was more like Blaze stumbled into the Three Broomsticks, tripping over the doorstep. He looked around a little to excitedly to make sure October was still there. Seeing her he calmed down and went to order himself a drink.
Earlier Blaze had decided to play Let's Stalk Tober and had succeeded very nicely until they reached inner Hogsmeade. There people started giving him strange looks and to begin with, he thought he wasn't being discrete enough. It was until later that the boy realized he was still bleeding from his fall earlier. Trying to cover his face with his cloak, Blaze made his way after October until she entered the Three Broomsticks. There he departed and went to go wash his face, When Blaze looked in a mirror he almost started laughing; he was nearly unrecognizable. After washing off his face, Blaze found the source of all the blood, a nasty gash on his right temple. At first he was really upset thinking he should go back to the hospital wing and get it fixed, though Blaze found that if he positioned his hair correctly, the gash was almost invisible.
Now Blaze has stumbled into the Three Broomsticks and made a fool of himself once again. After he got his Butterbeer he looked around for a place to sit. Tober was sitting with another Slytherin who looked slightly familiar though Blaze couldn't put a name to his face. Sighing he took a table close enough to them so he could hear their conversation, and interrupt if needed, and far enough that October hopefully wouldn't suspect he was following her, and acted like he was waiting for someone to show up.

Severus rolled his eyes, "There's always an exception with Malfoys. Trust me. And this was before he got serious with her, so he was trying out what Hogwarts had to offer him."

"He's a horrible boy, and he thinks he's just so charming and wonderful. It's rather sickening, if you want my opinion." October replied, faint frown lines creasing her forehead.

"Opinion gladly accepted and agreed to," Severus nodded.

October smiled, "Good." She replied, "He is...one of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's followers, isn't he? Regulus told me he's the sort of self-proclaimed ruler of the Death Eaters who are still in school..."

"Regulus rings true, for once," Severus muttered. "I suspect that You-Know-Who is more interested in his money than anything else." Fact was, Severus more than suspected, he knew. As well as every other Death Eater in the school, but Lucius was no pushover.

October nodded. "Yes. I forgot about that. He comes from a wealthy family, doesn't he." She absently began drawing picture in the fog that had accumlated on her butterbeer bottle. "Anyway, let's not talk about Lucius. I think it would only serve to inflate his ego if he ever found out we were chatting about him, no matter if our words were flattering or not. So, if I could ask, how long have you...ah..liked me? I'm just curious."

Severus allowed himself a smile smile at October's remark. "I've liked you since the Greenroom. You wasted no time dealing with those Gryffindor slobs, which I admire," Severus blushed and looked down at the table. "Okay, now how long, um, have liked me?" Severus looked back at October.

"Well, they were drunk and destroying my flowers, which I had cared for since seedlings. You would probably do the same thing if someone was wrecking something you loved." October replied. "As for liking you, I started in second year. Remember, we rode in the same compartment on the Hogwarts Express? If I had to take a guess, I would say it hit me right around then."
