Alea collasped on her bed, one hand rubbing her aching head. She was tired of Blaze, tired of the hospital wing, and her head really hurt, which made her less tolerant than usual. She switched positions and reached under her bed for the locked chest with her headache medicine in it.

October glided into the dormitory, pale as death herself. The fourth year's eyes were still huge, giving her a look of slight shock. She was not focused on anything in general, simply floating over to her bed and sitting down, gazing at her white, mutilated sneakers with a look of slight depression and what could be interpretted as fatigue.
Her eyes went to the portrait of the silver-haired man and the little girl sitting on her bedside and October felt a stab of emotional pain. How many times had she been disgusted by the sight of that protrait? How many times had she wanted to throw it out, never look at it again? More importantly, how many times had she kept it despite these feelings?

Alea halted her rummaging and looked up at October. "Oh, hey October," she said, and went back to looking for her vial.

"Hello." October replied hollowly, kicking off her shoes and drawing her knees to her chest. She stared at her sneakers for a moment. They were covered with angry-looking scribbles that October herself had made one night when she was up late doing Potions homework. It had been frustrating, and she'd taken out her frsutration by drawing all over her shoes. The ink had failed to fade off, no matter how many times October wore the shoes. She didn't mind anymore, however, "What are you looking for, Alea?"

Mesedj dashed into the girls' dorm, dark hair messier than normal and tears streaming down her face, and threw herself onto her bed.

Alea looked up, startled that she hadn't felt her coming, and thought through their bond, Mesedj? What's up? She quietly walked over to Mesedj's bed and sat on the edge of it, sending calm through their bond as well.

October glanced over at Mesedj worriedly, "Mesedj?" She inquired, "Are you alright?" Well, obviously not, seeing as she was crying.

Mesedj scooted away from Alea and nearly fell off the bed in the process but managed to catch herself in time. Instead, she just buried her face in the pillow and tried to block Alea.

October frowned slightly, but did not pursue the question. Mesedj obviously did not want to be bothered right now and October would respect her fellow Slytherin's wishes. The fourth year slipped off her bed and retrieved her shoes, setting them neatly down near the foot of her bed. She sighed lightly and went back to her own thoughts.

Alea sighed and said quietly, "Mesedj, don't block me out...please." she tentatively put a hand on her shoulder. "It's like the time in the Great Hall; just trust me."

Mesedj tried to move and did fall off the bed this time. She made no effort to get back up, however, just stayed there, still crying.

Alea started when Mesedj fell off the bed and walked over to the other side. She sat down beside Mesedj. "Please. I know peoples' emotions and can try to help...please trust me, Mesedj."

Mesedj, finally really listening to her friend, shrugged one shoulder. If you must. But watch out... right now I can barely handle it.

Alea smiled slightly. That's ok. It might help to have another person in your mind...literally. She was happy Mesedj was finally listening to her.

Mesedj nodded. Anything special you need me to do?
