Not really. Just tell me what you want to, or I can search your mind. You pick. Alea told her silently.

Mesedj sighed. Hold on.... She went through her mind, closing off everything she didn't want even Alea seeing. Alright... go on...

Ok, just try to relax a bit and clear your mind of thoughts...or else it'll confuse me, Alea thought. Tell me when you're ready.

Mesedj nodded. My mind's as clear as it'll get right now, she thought. Go ahead whenever.

After a moment or two in silence, October realized exactly how very tired she was. This was rather odd, since she had not done anything physically demanding today. The most eventful thing that happened was probably her good friend, Mimi, suddenly getting sick.
With the thought of Mimi, October winced as though somebody had smacked her across the face. Mimi was probably one of her best friends. It was the first relationship October had forged outside of her family that satisfied her completely. She was not left wanting more, as she was with Severus. And although she hated to admit it, Mimi meant a lot to October, as a friend.
The Slytherin fourth year flopped down on her bed, her head landing just below the pillow. The familiar, welcoming scent of the bedsheets was somehow comforting, and October found herself drifting off to sleep, the exhaustion from nowhere slowly taking over.
((There. It's awkward being a spectator. also, this is ironic because, looking at October's entire family tree [Yes, I made her an entire family tree. I was bored, okay?], Mimi is actually distantly related to her.))

Alea leaned up against the wall and took a deep breath, readying herself. She hadn't done this in so long, she hoped she remembered how. She sent herself along her bond with Mesedj, bracing herself for the flood of memories and feelings she would receive.
Images and feelings flashed through her mind's eye. She was walking by the lake hand-in-hand with Gryffin, elation consuming her. She stood in a clearing in the forest picking lavender. Lucius was leading her to another clearing in the forest, a clearing full of people around her age, nervousness prickling at her. Alea put up a block against these images and searched for the one she looked for. There it was: Gryffin lay on a bed in the hospital wing, paler than usual. Alea felt feelings of terror, nervousness, and something strong she had never felt before. Love, she realized.
Alea blinked as she opened her eyes, out of Mesedj's mind. She closed her eyes briefly as her headache intensified. Reaching behind her into the chest under her bed, she found her headache medicine this time, uncorked it, and drank the remains of it. Her headache dulled a bit and she opened her eyes, glancing at Mesedj with pity in her eyes.

Mesedj saw everything as Alea did, wincing slightly as she felt Alea's conciousness separate from her own. "So? What's wrong?" she asked. "Why am I all worried about Gryffin?"

Alea winced and rubbed her forehead once more. "Well...Mesedj, you love him," she said, her headache making her more blunt than usual. "I felt that the most strongly with your nervousness and fear."

Mesedj blinked at her. "What? Oh no. No no no. That isn't gonna work. No."

Alea sighed. "Mesedj, I'm sorry, but it's obvious," she admitted, leaning against the wall and closing her eyes once more.

Mesedj got up and started pacing the room. "But what if... and that's not gonna work, Alea! I can't be in love with him!"

Alea sighed and opened her eyes. "Mesedj, please sit down. You're making my head hurt even more. I know how you feel...believe me," she half-smiled, "but you can't lie to your heart. Or to me, for that matter. Don't worry, Mesedj. You'll find a way...I know you will," she told her friend.

Mesedj sat down hard on the nearest bed, making it squeak unpleasantly. "But Alea, he's... he's a Muggleborn! What if somebody finds out?"

Alea shook her head. "I don't know, Mesedj. I guess we'll have to cross that bridge when we come to it," she told her friend and flopped down on her bed, closing her eyes once more.

Mesedj glanced around. "Whose bed is this anyways? Well, it's not October's, I guess," she said, gesturing across the room at the other girl. "I... I might go back down to the Hospital Wing now..."
