Continuance of the Investigation

[Severus Snape]

((And we are here!))

"Excuse me, sir, do you mind if we ask you a few questions?" Severus stepped forward, passing along the aisles of various sweets.

((....someone needs to be the shopkeeper. Any volunteers? If not, it's going to be me.))

[October Cricket]

October said nothing, but merely waited on the shopkeeper to reply. After all, she did not have much to say at the moment.

[Edward Sparrow]

Edward looked up. "Who, me? I guess I could answer some questions... what about, kid?"

[October Cricket]

"The Shrieking Shack." October piped up, "We're very curious about it."

[Severus Snape]

"The Shrieking Shack. Have you had any personal experiences, or heard any strange rumors?" Severus sat down on the floor beside him, glancing at the inventory lists.

[Edward Sparrow]

Edward shrugged. "It wasn't all haunted when I was at Hogwarts. We used to go up there all the time on Hogsmeade weekends. But it sure as hell is now- all that screaming and everything. Why d'you want to know?"

[October Cricket]

"Well, truth be told, I'm not sure." October shrugged, then looked to Severus, "I don't think you ever told me our motive for this information hunt."

[Edward Sparrow]

Edward looked over at Severus too. "If you're thinking about going up there, I wouldn't suggest it. That place makes noises like people being tortured. Not the best idea, kid."

[Severus Snape]

"I'm doing an extra credit essay for my History of Magic class, and I've decided to do mine on the Shrieking Shack," Severus lied through his teeth. "I've been hauling her around to help me. Unfortunately, I've not been able to get alot of information about it. Looks like I'll have to find another topic," Severus made as if to get up.

"Of course, if anyone were to be able to help me, I would most gladly be of service to them." Severus looked at him pointedly, "Services that would include being one of their most loyal customers..."

Severus slowly started his way towards Honeyduke's door.

[Edward Sparrow]

Edward raised an eyebrow. "The noises are the worst around the full moon. Rumor around here is that it's cause the moon makes the spirits angry or whatever. I think that's bull, personally." He leaned back and opened a pack of Bertie Botts' Every Flavor Beans.

[Severus Snape]

Severus turned around, smiling inside. It was working!

"Oh? Bull, you say. What do you think?"

[October Cricket]

"That's weird." October commented, "Some of the more malicious spirits react more to light though, so it does make a bit of sense."

[Severus Snape]

Severus nodded in agreement, he looked expectantly at the shopkeeper.

[Edward Sparrow]

Edward shrugged. "I think it's just kids playing pranks. One of the girls over at Madam Puddifoot's swears to anyone that'll listen that there's a werewolf living up there, which is stupider than the spirits theory."

[Severus Snape]

Severus filed away the werewolf information to chew over later. "You seem to think that all those theories are stupid. Once again, I ask you, what do you think?"
