"I don't think a werewolf would get so close to civilization." October replied skeptically, "Most, I think, try to stay as far away from towns as possible, don't they?"

"Like I said, kids playing pranks. And werewolves tend to be very solitary creatures, as well as very emotionally unstable while in their human form. Most don't last as long as this supposed haunting has." He pushed his glasses, which had slipped, back up his nose.

"Mhm." October nodded in agreement, "What do think this is, then?"

He shook his head. "Could be restless spirits, I suppose. Normally stuff like this is cause somebody was killed up there. They've got a record of deaths in Hogsmeade in the library at Hogwarts if you wanna go check that out."

"Okay." October nodded, "I'll look into that when we return to the school."

"Good idea. And... let's see. What else do I know about the Shrieking Shack? It's only been like that a few years, but I already said that, didn't I? It's been haunted... four years, I think." He blinked, trying to remember.

Severus frowned. Four years? He'd been there for four years. Severus was even more perplexed, when he recalled that the Whomping Willow had been planted in his first year. He remembered students complaining about the tree while others thought it amusing; they played games around the vicious thing. Davy Gudeon especially loved it; he even was talking about starting a club. It would only be a matter of time before someone lost an eye.
Perhaps the Whomping Willow and Shrieking Shack had any connection? He cast that thought away; it was impossible.
"Well, thank you for your time. I guess you'll be expecting to see me again, won't you?" Severus sighed resignedly. He wasn't a big fan of candy. Maybe he'd give it to October; she deserved it after he had hauled her around everywhere.
"Ready to go, October?"

"Yes." October replied somewhat automatically, pondering the 'Fours Years' piece as well. She had also been at Hogwarts for four years, along with many other students. Perhaps one of the students might have something to do with the Shack.
She wouldn't be surprised if the four Gryffindor boys known as the Marauders had something to do with it. They were strange in that way, and it pwould probably be amusing for them to make it seem like the Shrieking Shack was actually haunted. Anything was possible.

"You kids going then? Alright. If I find anything else out I'll tell you next time you come in." Edward immediately turned his attention to the candy inventory he had been working on.

"Thank you," Severus said, nodding to the shopkeeper.
