Madam Pomfrey sat at her desk with her long skirts folded neatly beneath her. A book by the Director of Saint Mungo's held her attention for the moment. Since her waking, she had arranged and rearranged the Hospital Wing and was finally satisfied. Now with every bed made, pillow fluffed, medicine bottle labeled, and window clean she could rest. Her normal patients, Kingsley, Sirius, Remus, and James seemed to have managed not to get drunk. Half her life was spent nursing their ale-heads. Sighing, Madam Pomfrey continued reading the essay on bone regrowth.

Comas came in. "Madame Pomfrey? Is there anything I can help you with?" she squeaked.

Madam Pomfrey smiled kindly on her small assitant. "Grab the broom, dearie, and sweep these floors. Afterwards we can head to the dining room."

Comas was about to grab the broom when she smacked her forehead with a palm. "Oh, Cauldron Cakes! I completely forgot to give you the list of medicinal plants you asked for!" She ducked into her small workroom and grabbed a piece of parchment reading:
Feverfew and Lavender-cold and cough Poppy seed-ease pain, ease sleeping Coltsfoot and Juniper berries-help breathing Horsetail-Scratches, bruises, etc. Water mint and Chervil root-ease headache
"Here you go!" she squeaked, handing the nurse the parchment. ((Sorry, I was bored and looked this up, thinking it might help with the epidemic thing))

Alea came in dragging James with October. "Comas!" she gasped. "Alice and James passed out in the hallway!" she told her friend, even though she already knew.

"I think we should take him over to a bed." October murmured mostly to herself, staring at the unconscious James Potter she was carrying. He was a bit heavier than she had expected him to be.

Hannah ran into the Hospital Wing panting with Alice in her arms. "I've got Alice."

"Good," Alea said, relieved. "I guess you can put her on that empty bed there so you don't drop her."

Hannah walked over to the bed and put Alice on it. "There."

Alea looked nervously at Alice and James. "It's kind of scary, this is. Unless they both caught something...but it's nothing like I've ever seen before," she said to Hannah.

"Me niether. I hope they will be alright." Hannah said with a concerned look on her face.

"I'm sure they'll be fine." October sighed to herself, taking James and dumping him unceremoniously into an empty bed. Sure, it was a bit odd for them both to faint at the same time in the same place, but odd things happened at Hogwarts. It was nothing new.
And anyway, she knew a lot of Slytherins who would like to get back at James. Alice was never mentioned, but doubtless she could be loathed by somebody. That was probably it. Somebody exacted their revenge on the two.

Alea sighed. "I wonder if this happened to anyone else? I can check our dorm and common room..."
