October stepped lightly into the common room, carrying three or four books in her arms. By the looks of it, said books were quite heavy. The Slytherin fourth year quickly stumbled across the common room and deposited her load in an emerald green armchair. Sighing heavily, she dropped down into the chair next to her books, gazing down fondly at the scores of pages she had yet to read.
Picking up the top book, a serious looking volume bound with black leather, October smiled brightly. Books. There was nothing in the world (expect perhaps Severus) that brought her more joy than a good, well-written, engaging book. But by far, the best thing about books was that, unlike people, they could never, ever betray her. October supposed that reading was one of the few things that kept her sane the first few years after he father's death.

Blaze jogged into the Common Room and tripped. "Darn," he said catching himself, "not again." For some reason he had become very clumsy since growing into and getting used to his spell reading. He just sighed and looked back into the hall making sure Steve wasn't anywhere in sight.

"Are you alright, Blaze?" October looked up from her book, which she had already opened and begun to read. She saw him trip out of the corner of her eye, and, although he seemed to be fine, she decided just to make sure.

Blaze jumped when he heard October, thinking she was Steve he pulled out his wand. "Oh hey Tober," he put his wand away, "yeah I'm fine. Actually, I'm always fine, but that's beside the point."

"It most certainly is." October replied dryly before going back to her book. Even though she had only gone in a few pages, it was already fascinating and she would hate for any distrubances.

October refrained from shooting him the nastiest look she could muster, "A book I got from the library." She replied flatly.

October smiled briefly, but still did not look up at him, "It's about one of the goblin rebellions Professor Binns is so fond of lecturing about." She said before he had a chance to ask what it was about, "Specifically following a certain family of goblins and their hardships during war."

October smiled faintly, "Oh, don't worry. It's no trouble at all." She rose from her chair and drifted over to assist him with his stack of books. She took a few off the top, "Now, where do you want to put these?"

"That table over there." he said nodding with his head because of the stack of books. "Thanks for the help." he said blushing.

"You're welcome." October replied before drifting over to the table and gently depositing the books there, "So, are these just for pleasure, or are they for class?"
