If one more person gets screams I swear I'm going to.. Astrum left her thought unfinished and turned the page in her Herbology book. She tried her hardest to focus on the words on the page, but the constant screeching of the other students who were playing in the lake jerked her out of concentration every minute or so.
"Oh, I give up." She muttered to herself, slamming the book shut and chucking it on top of her bag. Astrum leaned back against the tree that was shading her pale skin from the sun. Studying outside on one of the few actually sunny Saturdays; not one of her best ideas.
(reserved for Blaze... just in case. XD)

The day was warm and the sun was shining brightly in the noonday sky; not a cloud could be seen for miles. It was as if a spell had be cast to make the day astoundingly brilliant. Blaze actually had been hoping to not find October somewhere in the dungeons. He always wanted to see her, but today he wanted to go outside. It was beckoning to him. The Slytherin knew that any chances of October being outside on a day like this were slim to none, but he thought that he minus well be certain and check the place out. Just to be positive, he was wearing his swimming trunks. You never know if the love of your life was going to be drowning and in dire need of rescuing...
Blaze approached the shoreline and pulled off the t-shirt he had been wearing. He threw that and his towel down on a rock by the beach. Then, he proceeded to slowly wade into the water. It was no where near as warm as the air outside. He shivered. The day would be much better if he spent it working on his tan than dying of hypothermia. Maybe going to the lake wasn't such a good idea today.
The Slytherin got back to the shore and was about to pick up his clothes and leave when he saw a fimilar figure a few meters off sitting by a tree. "Hey Astrum!" Blaze hollered, but his voice was covered up by the screams of the other students around him tossing each other in the freezing water. Blaze left his belongings by the water and silently walked over to where his friend sat. "Having fun yet?" he bent down and asked when he was right beside her.

Astrum glanced at the source of the familiar noise. "Oh yes, studying is such incredible fun, not that I got much done with that lot yelling." She jerked her hand towards the lake. "And could you dry off? You're dripping all over me." She quickly summoned over his towel and threw it at him. "I don't appreciate it, particularly. Anyway, I should probably go inside so I can get something done, I just thought it would be nice to study somewhere that isn't the library or Common Room for a change, but apparently that was a bad idea."

"Hey, I'm not that wet," Blaze threw the towel on top of her bag so it didn't get dirt on it. Then he proceeded to try to give her a big hug. "There, now you won't notice if I drip on you," he lauged. "Don't worry about studying either. You still have tomorrow and all of next week to burn your brains out with studying. It's Saturday, enjoy yourself." Then as an afterthought he added, "Come swimming with me." Though he didn't want to freeze to death from the water, it would be worth it if he had a friend to go along with his craziness. "Let's go join "that lot"."

Astrum sighed and started rubbing at her shirt in a vague attempt to dry it. "Well, maybe you have all next week to study, but I, on the other hand, have a test on Monday that I need to study for. And unless you want me to swim fully clothed I think I'll pass, besides which, I don't really see much fun in swimming in a cold, muddy lake; I actually find it quite barbaric." She directed her gray eyes at the lake momentarily. "Like I said, I'll pass."

Blaze sighed wholeheartedly. "Has anyone ever told you that you're no fun?" Though, like always, Astrum was right. There was a test coming up that he needed to pass, and the lake idea was fine to him before he felt the temperature of it. It was just like Astrum to remind Blaze of the things he hated about life: studying included. "You know there's a reason you don't have fun," he grumbled, "it's because fun tries it's hardest to avoid you. It knows that you'll kill it if it comes withing 10 meters."
Then a sudden smile spread across his face as he realized something that his friend had said; he could barely control the urge to laugh. "You know," he knew that if he didn't hurry up and say it he was going to start giggling like a school girl. "You know, I never said anything about swimming with your clothes on." There he said it. Now he just grinned smuggly and mentally laughed his head off.

"No one other than you has ever told me that I'm 'no fun', Blaze." Astrum replied, using the appropriate air quotes. "And fun doesn't try to avoid me, I just choose to have fun in ways that don't involve pneumonia. Having said that, if you want to go freeze to death in that lake, be my guest; I'm perfectly happy to just sit here and watch you. Which I'm sure you'll appreciate when you become unable to move from the cold and need someone to take you to the Hospital Wing."
