Remus bent over the ancient and ink stained library book as he copied notes from it onto a fresh piece of parchment. A few drops of ink splashed against his face but he continued to write furiously.
Earlier that day Remus had taken several books down from the library shelves, and after kicking a few first years playing wizards' chess away from their table, had set up his stacks of books like his own private castle and began to write the essay that had been assigned in Defence Against The Dark Arts. By now he was on his second role of parchment and still had more to write.
He sighed as he leaned back and rubbed his face with his hand, the ink smearing a little. Remus wished he had remembered to sneak tea in. He could use a nice strong tea right now. He glanced around for a familiar face before he bent back over his paper.

Caroline had another random feeling, but this time it was just to go to the library. She wondered if she might have forgotten a book of hers earlier that day. Lord knows I dropped enough of them, she mused. Maybe these feeling things aren't just magical, but practical as well.
While walking around she saw a Gryffindor who looked whipped from something he was pouring over. Deciding to give him a brake she went up, "Hello!, mind if I sit down?" she motioned to a empty chair at his table. She hoped it was alright because she sat down studding him, not thinking she had seem him before that she could remember.

Remus looked up in surprise at his sudden table mate. That was sudden.he thought. He shifted under her intense stare. He set down his quill and reached out his hands over his pile of books,"Hello, I'm Remus." He grinned and returned her gaze.

The girl smiled and replied, "You can call me Caroline, or anything like that." After a moment of thought added, "except Carol I can't stand that name," she tried to best to frowned and failed, so instead just laughed. Then she shook his hand, "It's very nice to meet you, Remus."

"I have an aunt named Carol, I don't like her much so you don't need to worry about me calling you that," said Remus, "Just out of curiosity, any special reason to choose my table? I'm fairly sure that everyone knows that I tend to be a bad conversationalist when writing papers. Well. . .usually I am at least when I'm writing a Potions essay." Remus leaned back in his chair.
"I think I've seen you around before. Do you come to the library often?"

After thinking a minute Caroline decided to say, "Well you seemed bored and I thought you might want some company. So, ta-da here I am to your rescue." She took a breath before continuing, "Besides I bet you can hold a conversation with the best of them even without asking about the weather. You just don't give yourself enough credit."
The girl folded her arms behind her head, relaxing, preparing to answer his last question, "Yeah, I do come here a lot. It's really relaxing, probably my favorite place on the grounds besides the quidditch pitch. Yep, I can normally be found in one of those places. And yourself? Do you come here often? I seem to remember seeing your face before. Maybe it was just from the Common Room, "she motioned to the clothes he was wearing, "though I don't stay up there often."

"Well, that would explain where I've seen you. I tend to be down here helping out with shelving books," Remus grinned. "If you ever saw an older student being harassed by first years, then that was me. They seem to flock to me because I'll actually give them books that are helpful for their essays, rather then sending them on crazy hunts." He gestured towards a group of first years heading towards the Restricted Section with what looked like a hand drawn map in hand. "To answer your other question, I'm usually found wandering around here, or the kitchens, in the common rooms, or in the hospital ward. I like to help out with people when they are sick. If I'm not there I'm being dragged around by Sirius or James." He grinned as he thought of what the two would say if they could see him now. It would probably not be anything highly appropriate.
"Would you like some tea? The house elves are usually willing to bring me some. I tend to be able to get away with breaking library rules, as long as no spills appear on the books." Remus sent a message to one of his house elf friends asking him to send up tea without waiting for Caroline's reply.

"Sure I'd love some," she nodded. "That's very nice of you," Caroline wasn't sure weather she meant helping with the sick or for the tea. She decided to go with the first, "I try helping out at the Hospital Wing at times, but I don't really do any good. Normally I just use the herbs Alea tells me to, and sometimes I even forget what they do," she looked down at the table slightly embarrassed by her lack of nursing skills. She actually didn't really understand the problem, she was awesome at Herbology but just get nervous whenever she was up there. Smiling Caroline looked towards the first years, "Should someone stop them?"

Remus smiled slightly and his cheeks gained a pinkish tint. He was saved from having to answer right away by the arrival of the tea from seemingly no where. With a grin he noted that the elves had included two cuts of a chocolate cake that were still hot from the oven and as he began to pour the tea and handed a piece of the cake to Caroline, he mad a mental note to stop by the kitchen to visit with the house elves, since they tended to not take praise well. Setting the tea service out on the table, which was thankfully a china set, he added a bit of milk to his tea as he stood.
Glancing at the first years that still seemed to be having a bit of trouble, he stage whispered to Caroline,"I think I should go help them out, I'll be back in a second, so don't let it stop you from enjoying the tea."
He walked over towards the first years, hailing them with gusto and asking why they were trying to get into the Restricted Section, and began an animated conversation with them, very much like a comedy sketch.

"Thanks," Caroline grinned taking the cake from Remus. "They really are too nice," she remarked, mostly to herself though. The girl, still, after five years of living in the wizarding world, completely didn't understand house elves. It wasn't that what they did was very complicated to comprehend but, Caroline was just in, a sort of, awe with them. 'Very interesting creatures,' she was once quoted to say.
"Yeah," Caroline agreed quietly to Remus' saying he was going to help the younger students. Taking a sip of her tea, the girl turned her head to see what was taking her new friend so long and found him enjoying what looked like, to her at least, a pleasant conversation with the first years who had tried to wander into the Restricted Section. He really is quite nice, she remarked happily to herself, turning her attention back to her tea.
((I hope you're happy. I hope you're happy now ^^))
