((Wrong account, Padfoot.))
"Yes." October added, "Your assistance would be greatly appreciated."

((Well, double darnit on me. I'll fix it tomorrow. For the time being, pretend it was Severus.))
Severus looked down the counter; apparently they weren't getting her attention.
"OI!"

October frowned, then flicked a piece of something, probably a crumb, off the counter with her index finger, "I don't think we're going to get any attention." She murmured, more to herself than to Severus.

Rosmerta noticed that the two students were looking at her as if they expected an answer beyond butterbeers. After setting down the two tankards of fire whiskey in front of her harassed looking older customers, she turned to them and asked,"I'm sorry dears, what is it you wanted to know?"

"We'd like to ask you about the Shrieking Shack," Severus replied calmly.

Rosmerta shifted uncomfortably, Albus had warned her about students getting curious about it.
"What is there to know?" she said,"It' s one of the most haunted spots in this part of the UK. I advise you to not go near it, it's a very dangerous place, not only because of the ghosts, but also the building is almost coming down around its self."

"I would never dream of going near it, but I was wondering if you had any personal experiences with it?" Severus looked at her expectantly.

October nodded slightly, a slight frown tugging at her lips. She, having never been close to the Shrieking Shack before, had rather wanted to go see it. Not go inside it, mind you, she wasn't that stupid, but just to see the ramshackle building from a more personal angle.

Seeing the look of interest in their eyes, Rosmerta sighed and leaned forward,"If you are that interested in seeing it, you can just continue up this hill and you will come to it. It's okay to look at it, just remember to stay away from it at night. More than one person has been severely hurt trying to get closer during the day or at night."
She silently prayed that if they did decide to do anything, it wouldn't be something rash.

"Alright." October said, smiling, "Shall we go, then, Severus?"

Severus sighed in dissapointment; the bartender obviously wasn't willing to tell them anymore. "Thank you for your time," nodding to October, he started to make his way out of the Three Broomsticks.

October hesistated a moment before following him, as if unsure whether he wanted her to come or not. With a light shrug and a brief smile in gratitude to Madame Rosmerta, she silently padded off after Severus.

Severus squinted up at the sky; they had a few hours left. He turned around to make sure October was following, and, taking a quick glance towards the Shrieking Shack, he traversed to Honeydukes.
By this time, most of the students had already made their way back to Hogwarts, leaving the streets alot emptier than they had been when he ducked into the Three Broomsticks. Looking up and down the street, he noticed that Kingsley and his ferocious black dog were nowhere in sight.

"Very quiet out here, isn't it?" October commented conversationally as she followed along behind Snape, "It's almost a bit unnatural."

"Yes," he murmured softly, still looking up and down the street. He slowed down so October wouldn't have to walk behind him.
There were no wanted posters for various witches and wizards, but everyone in England kept a wand in their pocket and someone to walk with whenever in public. According to rumors, the amount of supporters for You-Know-Who was alarming, and the Daily Prophet had the occasional article on how to protect yourself, even going so far as to provide instructions for various defense spells. It was worrisome, for those not loyal to You-Know-Who at least.
