((This takes place towards the beginning of the school year.))
The wind had picked up immensely since JP had wandered away from the Castle. It now rocked the tree which she sat in gently back and forth as thunder rolled above her head. Sounds of students could be heard drifting off further away from where she lied levitating a notebook and quill above her head. The notebook was the closest thing to a diary which JP possessed. It had a solid black cover and the pages were blank to those who didn't know the secret. At the moment though the book was unlocked and she was using her wand to write in it upside down.
It read:
Day One,
I can feel the time coming as it rushes by me, but it doesn't seem to take me anywhere with it. I'm still lying here in my tree; the same place I was a few months ago. It seems as if only days have past since I've been here last, not weeks. Summer came and went without much chaos. There was only one close incident, but I managed to escape that with only a scratch. Hopefully I will be able to distinguish the days from each other this year. Hopefully there will be a reason to.
JP paused and touched her cheek where a "minor" accident had occurred over the summer. It wasn't anything major but it certainly wasn't something that she would write down. If someone actually were to be able to crack the code of her notebook, she didn't want them to know what had happened. She didn't want anyone to know what had happened.
Exhaling deeply, JP waved her wand backwards towards the tree and watched as her notebook and quill went from over her head into a small opening inside of the tree. For years this place had been her save haven; it was hard to believe that there was only two more years of it though. After next year she wouldn't be able to come back there and just relax. After next year she'd be on her own. Well, JP guessed that with her brother she'd never truly be alone.
Alone. Empty. Those thoughts almost scared the young woman, though at the same time they brought a sense of excitement. Those words also made her think of adventure, and that was one thing that JP lived for. Adventure was one of the things that kept her going all day long. The hope of finding something on purpose or discovering something by mistake. Of course, there were also the times when she wanted the solitude of the Common Room, but those were few and far between.
Another gust of wind came from the forest that almost toppled JP out of the tree. Though, instead of getting out like most students would, JP just wrapped one of her arms around the branch and closed her eyes. It wouldn't bother her if it rained. It wouldn't bother her if she was out there all night. What would bother her was if she was locked up somewhere without the sound of nature to comfort her. At least here she could listen to the time passing by between the leaves.
