Caradoc, who had decided not to go with Michael and Kingsley to Hogsmeade, preferring to let them fend for themselves, instead sat around in the common room and read.

Sirius practically flew out of the Boy's Dorm in his socks, strumming his air guitar while Billy Joel blasted down from his dorm room. Landing on the wooden floors, his feet quickly slipped out from underneath him, resulting in him knocking over an old, rickety table with books and a vase of flowers. The vase shattered and the water soaked the toppled books, making a soggy storm of loose, fluttering book pages. Sirius looked up in wonder at the mess he had created, while Joel sang on about slowing down in the background, as he was completely oblivious to the nasty gash on his upper arm.

ALice walked in, and sat down across from some guy she didn't know. She didn't really pay attention to him, but stared into the fire instead.

Caradoc jumped at the crash and looked over at Sirius. "Oh Lord, Black. Clean that up..."

Sirius finally diverted his attention from the montrosity of the mess and looked at the montrosity of Caradoc's face, "Nope. Don't feel like it..."

"That was smooth Sirius" Alice said, getting up. "I think only Morgan could've done more damage."

Caradoc rolled his eyes at the other boy. "Fine, but when Kingsley kicks your ass for this don't say I didn't warn you." He wandered back over to his chair and threw himself down into it, seriously considering going back up to the dorm and locking Kingsley, Michael, and Sirius out, as well as whoever else wasn't in there.

Thalia trudged into the common room, mussing her hair which she uncharacteristically wore down. She was frustrated with the lack of anything to do. Her homework was finished, and her friends no where to be found. While there were other people in the room, there was no one she really knew. And her muse had deserted her as to pranks. What luck.
She slumped down into one of the plush armchairs, sitting sideways and hanging over the arms and began counting stones in the fireplace. When she got to 43, a crash startled her and she looked up to see a black haired boy and a huge mess. One the guy obviously didn't want to clean up. Gee wiz... Guys. With a roll of her eyes, Thal sent a muttered 'Reparo' spell at the mess. Then she settled back to see Sirius' reaction, and if there would be a tiff between him and the other boy.

"Since Kingsley isn't going to know about this, I say it's a good deal," Sirius watched as the table uprighted itself, the vase mended itself, and the books were restored to their former (ungraffitied) glory. Glancing up at Alice, he said, "Yeah, I'm okay."
Standing up, he found that his sleeve looked like it had been doused in a vat of some kind of red liquid, until he realized it was his own blood. Using a nearby chair, he pulled himself up and looked at the spellcaster. "Say, I haven't seen you around. Mind giving me a name, fair lady?" He sat on the arm of the chair opposite her.

"Sirius, no you're not okay." Alice said, looking at his arm. "You need to get that looked at."

Caradoc glanced over at Sirius. "Leave the girl alone, Sirius. She just got you out of some serious trouble, the least you could do is repay her by not flirting."

Alice looked at the boy she didn't know. "You obviously don't know Sirius." Alie said to him.

Sticking his tongue out at Alice and Caradoc, he said, "I thought I'd repay her by flirting. But if that's the way you feel about it... And Alice?" He looked back down at his arm, "Yeah, stings a little. I guess I'll be heading over to the infirmary." He got up and stood by the girl's chair, "Can I at least know your name?"

"Unfortunately I do," Caradoc said. "Kingsley and Michael spend enough time harassing Sirius and James that I know them fairly well by now. You're Alice, right? Frank's girlfriend?"
