((Takes place just after 'Vlad Alone'))
Jade stepped into the over crowded Three Broomsticks, and turned around to look at Vlad. "Here, I'll go get us something to drink, you go find us a table somewhere." She saw her older brother and waved at him; he gave a sort of half hearted half wave back and then went back to his friends. "Is that alright? Or we could switch it if you'd rather, it doesn't really matter that much." She smiled at him again, stepping slightly to one side so she wasn't standing right in front of the door.

"I said I would buy for you, didn't I? I'll get the drinks." Vlad smiled a little at Jade as he headed up to the counter. The bar was crowded (this place was always so packed during Hogsmeade weekends; it was the main place where most Hogwarts students hung out. Vlad usually avoided it when he was here with Mirabelle, both of them preferring less crowded areas) and it smelled of cloth and too many bodies packed onto the small barstools. Squeezing in between a fellow Hufflepuff and a Gryffindor, Vlad attempted to get the attention of a barmaid (Madame Rosmerta was currently absent and this new girl seemed to be a bit overwhelmed).
"Excuse me, miss. I would like two butterbeers. One for my friend and one for me." Vlad slipped his money onto the polished wood of the counter top. The barmaid nodded hurriedly, scooped up the coins, and delivered the requested beverages to Vlad. He thanked her with a smile and wandered back over to where Jade was. "Have you found us a table, Jade?"
((Kind of short and a little badly written. Oh well.))

"No, hold on, I'm still looking." Jade replied, her eyes scanning the area. "Oh, I think there's one way over in the back corner over there." She pointed and started walking. She ruffled Ricky's hair as she passed, he hated that and turned to glare at her, but Jade merely grinned at him and kept walking. "Here we go." She said, sitting down at the empty table. It was slightly away from the crowd, which she appreciated. She loved being around people, but she could get a little claustrophobic around so many people who were packed so tightly together.

"Do you know that boy?" Vlad asked, looking over his shoulder at the boy as he walked with Jade to their table. By the affectionate way she ruffled his hair, it seemed like they were rather close. Or at least they knew each other in some way. You simply didn't go up to strangers and ruffle their hair for no apparent reason. People usually didn't like that. Vlad, for one, hated to have his hair touched or messed up. He liked his hair to be straight and clean and it bothered him to no end when it wasn't. Mirabelle seemed to find his need to keep his hair tidy cute and liked to mess with his hair just to bug him. Still, it was all in good fun. Mirabelle was the best friend Vlad had and he loved her dearly, even if she did enjoy making his hair all untidy just to see him fret over it.
"Nevermind. That was a little nosy of me, I suppose." Vlad dropped into one of the chairs around the table Jade had located and slid the second bottle of butterbeer across the table to his new companion. "So, what shall we talk about? Did you try out for Quidditch, Jade? I heard they held tryouts recently. I don't play the game but I do love watching. It's such an exciting sport, don't you think?"

Jade smiled. "Oh, yes, sorry, that's my older brother, Ricky." She said, laughing at little at the fact that her brother was still glaring at her out of the corner of his eye. "He hates it when I do that, so my little sister, Christi, and I do that to bug him. Anyway, no I didn't try out, I do agree that the game is wonderful to watch, but I really wouldn't have the time for practices, besides, the few times in the summer when Ricky and Christi drag me outside to play with them I'm not very good, so I most likely wouldn't have made the team anyway. What about you? Do you play?"

Vlad shook his head. "Oh, of course not! I'm much too clumsy to play Quidditch and, although I hate to admit it, I'm a little afraid of heights. I get very nervous when I'm high up." The fifth year replied, grinning a little. His fear of heights was no laughing matter, really, though. It was what had caused him to drop Astronomy (he always skipped that class anyway; Vlad wouldn't go up on that insanely high tower even if someone paid him to). He'd never liked heights, just like he had never liked people touching his hair. There was no past trauma to induce his fear of heights. Vlad simply didn't like high places and that was that. "My girlfriend plays, though. She's on the Ravenclaw team, I think. She was last year, at least. I think they have to try out again each year. But I do enjoy watching. As I said, it's a very exciting game."
Vlad picked up his butterbeer and took a sip of it. Butterbeer was good stuff. It tasted surprisingly warm even though the bottle was cold to the touch. That little contradiction amused Vlad. "You know, I never got your year and house. I'm a fifth year, Hufflepuff house. What house do you come from, Jade?"

"I'm sixth year, Ravenclaw." Jade said, smiling a little. "My brother's in Hufflepuff, except he's a seventh year. And you're right, it is an exciting game, and it's even more fun to play than it is to watch, I just don't like the danger that comes along with playing it. I've heard about some truly horrible injuries from Quidditch, seen some as well with Ricky, and also those games that end up lasting for days because the seeker can't find the Golden Snitch."

Vlad blinked a few times, his warm, chocolate brown eyes sparkling with confusion. "Well, I guess our Golden Snitch might be a little easier to catch than those in the professional game. I've actually never been to professional British league game, though, so I can't really talk." He said, absently combing through his shiny, silky black hair with his fingers. Vlad kept his hair obsessively clean and always free of tangles so it was already perfectly straight but he liked combing it out anyway. He didn't have a comb on him, but his fingers would do. Vlad had long fingernails (Mirabelle was always bugging him to trim his nails). "And I've seen some of the nasty wounds you can get playing Quidditch. Like I said, my girlfriend plays and she gets hurt a lot, sadly. I always get so worried when she's hurt. Quidditch is exciting but it's really dangerous."

Jade tilted her head to one side a little. "It sounds like you care a lot about her." She said, a small smile one her face. "Anyway, I haven't been to a league game either, Ricky did a few years ago, he said it was cool. No body got too badly hurt when he went, I don't think; I've just heard about broken bones, people ending un in St. Mungos, things like that."

Vlad nodded and smiled a little. "Yeah. I do care about her a lot. She's a great girl and I'm fairly sure I'm going to marry her when we graduate. Have you ever met someone like that? You meet them and you just know you're meant to be with that person for the rest of your life? Still, things might change in two more years. It's a little bold of me to say I'm going to marry her when neither of us are even close to graduation yet. Who knows? She could break up with me between now and graduation." He said, staring dreamily down at the table instead of looking at Jade.
Vlad certainly wanted to marry Mirabelle, but they definitely weren't making plans. They were only fifteen right now, so it was a little early to be plotting their wedding day. Still, after graduation in seventh year, wizard children were allowed to marry. Whenever he brought up the topic, though, Mirabelle dismissed it and changed the conversation topic to something else. Seventeen was a little young to marry, Vlad knew, but both their families approved of their relationship and they were in love, weren't they? He didn't really understand that. Mirabelle certainly wasn't afraid of commitment. Perhaps she just didn't want to be tied to Vlad for the rest of her life.

"I've never met anyone like that, you're very lucky that you have, and so young as well. Don't be doubtful of your relationship, though, Vlad. It's not healthy, and it just causes fights if you think she's been cheating or something, but you don't have solid proof. I wouldn't worry about the fact that she didn't show up today, she probably just had a mind blank, besides, she might need some space."

"Oh, I don't think she's cheating on me. If she was, I probably wouldn't be mad at her anyhow. I'd forgive her as long as she promised not to do it again. That is, if she still wanted to stay with me. But either way, I don't think Mirabelle is cheating on me." Vlad took another swig of his butterbeer. "I'm more worried that she might think I'm cheating on her. You know, since I'm here with you. I don't have a lot of female friends and 'Belle tends to get a little jealous. But I can explain if she hears the wrong thing. Mirabelle probably forgot, like you said, and it's best for me not to worry over it. If something came up at the last minute, she will tell me. And there's probably a chance that I messed up a little too. So, I've decided not to worry, but I still do, you know?"
((Eh. Short.))

"Just kind of a nagging thing in the back of your mind, I guess?" Jade said shrugging. "Anyways, so, how are you finding fifth year? I suppose you're not really stressed because of OWLs yet, that's not really until a few weeks before the exams."

"Well, I'm just going to do what I do every year with exams. Try to make goods grades and learn the material and then take my exam when it comes. The whole school year is organized in preparation for the exams and I can't study until I know the stuff, so I just take it as it comes and then review when exam time rolls around." Vlad replied, sliding the sweating bottle of butterbeer between his pale hands on the the polished surface of the table. "Long story short, I'm not really worried right now. Were they really difficult for you? I heard they're pretty torturous." Vlad had older friends and they had all just barely survived the O.W.Ls. Still, Vlad knew his friends well and knew that they often exaggerated things. Jade seemed like a fairly honest girl. It would be good to get an opinion from someone who wouldn't kid him.
((Okay. This is getting a little boring. Let's bring another person in.))
