Severus gazed fondly at his most recent concoction, Veritisarum. It had taken alot of persuading to let Slughorn to let him, as well as the numerous amounts of time spent on this, but it was well worth it. Humming to himself, he started to put away his ingredients.

Kingsley plopped himself in a seat near the back of the classroom. Slughorn had tested his patience the past few days and he didn't want to have a run in with the Professor. Looking up, he heard rustling from inside Slughorn's office. Slowly he walked toward the door to investigate.

October, slightly flushed, peeked into the room, her gaze determined as if she were looking for something...or someone. "Severus?" She called softly, wondering perhaps if the Slytherin boy was out of her line of vision.

"Yes?" Severus sighed as he put the last jar of gnat's eyes in the shelves. He stepped from behind the numerous shelves of ingredients, wiping his hands on his robes.

Kingsley whirled around to meet the newcomer. He saw October sneaking along the long row of cauldrons leading to the front of the room. "Shush, Tober!" he hissed at the Slytherin. "Snape? What are you doing in here?"

"Sorry." October said, her voice quickly dropping to a whisper, "I just wanted to see Severus." The pale blush staining her face intensified.

Snape froze. "Kingsley? What are you doing in here?" Suddenly seeing October, his face lit up, "October, this is nice surprise! I've just been working on a new potion, and you?"

Kingsley rolled his eyes at October, before turning to Snape. "None of yours, Severus. What's icky Snape doing playing with Slughorn's potions?" he said before pulling his wand out of an inner robe pocket.

Severus raised his eyebrows. "Slughorn offered it to me for extra credit. Although, it's not like you couldn't use all the extra help you could get." Severus pulled his own wand out as well, stepping in front of Slughorn's office door. He'd defend those precious ingredients with his life if he had to. No bloody Gryffindor was going to smash them up with their stupidity.

((Okay))
"Oh so now I'm a inept Gryffindor! Why you little slimy snake!" Kingsley stepped up to Snape. "October, I don't need to be defended, I'm fine by myself!"

October glared at Kingsley, "Severus, I'm sure, wasn't doing anything wrong." She growled, her voice dark as thunder, "He's a good student and he shouldn't be bothered."

Severus smirked and crossed his arms. "You heard the woman. I'm a good student. I wouldn't dare do anything wrong."

October nodded sharply in agreement, then turned to Severus, "Severus, you haven't been to the common room lately. I was wondering where you've been all this time." She asked, her face adopting a sad expression, much like that of a dog that had just been abandoned by its master, "I missed you." She uttered softly, so softly it was difficult to hear.

Kingsley launched himself on the little prat, even forgetting his wand. "I'll kill you! I can't believe you would make fun of an seventh year and a head boy, you slimy ball."
